Audio Rack

Audio equipment rack designed in 1986 to hold my gear. Walnut frame, birch plywood panels, zebrawood trim. Frame is mortise-and-tenon. This racked was in service for 20 years.

A cast-concrete slab, surfaced with plaster and painted black, sits on vibration isolators for the turntable. Rack-mounted equipment hangs from brass rack rails. A slot to hold record jackets is on the left. Record storage in the lower bin adds stability.  The design is unusual, but very practical.
