Tack Trunk

Kath designed her logo, and I routed it in. She filled it with gold paint and then woodburned the outline.

Katharine needed a tack trunk to go with her new horse! This one is made of 1/2” Baltic Birch plywood and dovetailed Oak rails. I made the corner pieces from 50-mil brass sheet. We added wheels since it’s pretty heavy.

There is commercial inlay on the top. Finish is a Watco Light Walnut and four coats of alkyd spar varnish on the outside, and waterbase polyurethane on the inside.

Vents in the back are made of brass. The piano hinge is stainless.
